This year, six COST panels presented at the European Association for the History of Medicine and Health Conference, Humboldt University, Berlin, Germany (EAHMH 2025), with 32 COST members in attendance. The panels we sponsored at the conference covered Abortion beyond medicine (Agata Ignaciuk), Voicing Trauma: An Intimate History of Emotional Suffering in the Twentieth Century (Dimitra Vassiliadou), Patient Organizations and the Rationing Regime in France (1940-1949), (Ylva Söderfeldt), Child Patients in Twentieth-Century Sanatoria (Friederike Kind-Kovács and Heini Hakosalo), Beyond the State? Non-governmental Healthcare Providers During the 20th Century, (Yuliya Hilevych), Disability, Deservingness and Social Security (Gareth Millward). In addition, we were able to support a number of other participants to attend through our grant schemes for Young Research Innovators and members from Inclusiveness Target Countries.
Working Group 3 organised for the Action members to meet for lunch on the first day of EAHMH. The initial feedback from EAHMH attendees was very positive. Many connections were made, with collaborative ideas already under discussion along with plans for events for 2026 and 2027.
